Alabaster Parks & Recreation Department hosts opening day Parade of Teams.
On Saturday, April 5th at Veterans Park, dozens of young athletes will parade around the fields with their teammates and coaches during Alabaster’s annual opening day Parade of Teams. The parade, which begins at 10 a.m., officially kicks off the spring seasons of recreational baseball and softball. In addition to the parade, there is an invocation and playing of the National Anthem.
After the parade and opening day games, families can stay and enjoy the city’s third-annual Alabaster Touch-a-Truck event from 1 to 5 p.m. in the park’s back parking lot. Touch-a-Truck will feature dozens of vehicles from local businesses, agencies, and city departments—including several city police vehicles and fire trucks. There will also be food trucks on site for snacks and refreshments.
