The Thompson High School Warriors football team is coming off back-to-back 7A State Championships going into the 2021 season with the expectations high for a three peat. The Warriors are firmly at the top of the pre-season football rankings, and are ranked fifth on the MaxPreps national high school football rankings.
The Warriors won the 2020 7A state championship game in miraculous fashion, scoring 10 points in just 18 seconds to win the game over Auburn by one point on a successful field goal by kicker Trevor Hardy. Coach Mark Freeman, in his sixth season at Thompson, was named the 2020 Alabama Coach of the Year. We caught up with some of the Warrior players in pre-season camp about what makes the program so special.
